Studying the principles of Kabbalah is the foundation of the 40 Kabbalah Centres around the world. These Centres are physical locations where seasoned instructors in the ancient Wisdom Kabbalah hold classes on its practical aspects. Kabbalah is not a religion, as some may think, but it is a spiritual wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation. It originated in the times before Abraham and was particularly studied among the priests and spiritual leaders.

The First Kabbalah Centre is Founded

In 1922, the first Kabbalah Centre established in Israel, and for several decades it was the only Centre. During the 1960’s, Rav and Karen Berg, who were Americans, became students, and they studied there for 10 years.

When they left, they came back to the United States and founded the first Kabbalah Centre in America during the 1980s. They translated many of the ancient docs of Kabbalah into English and as many languages as possible. Their translations were significant in the Kabbalah Centres because more people were able to study.

Kabbalah Goes Online

Kabbalah means “to receive,” and Kabbalah Centres allow individuals to study spirituality in a practical way, so they can receive wisdom on how to live their lives better. Instructors focus on the Creative Light, and students aim at becoming closer to its life-giving force.

Volunteering is the main activity for students at the Centers. Karen Berg believes that it is significant for the student to give to the community so that the community benefits of Kabbalah as well as the individual.

The Internet has allowed Karen Berg and her son to start Kabbalah University where people are able to study wherever they live. They no longer need to live close to a Kabbalah Centre established. Kabbalah University comes out of the Los Angeles Centre where students are taught online in virtual classrooms.

Meditations and videos are posted daily and it is a central location for events such as conferences, dinners, and study groups to be announced. Since Kabbalah has been on the Internet, students or interested parties can now participate in Kabbalah Wisdom classes online in their own homes or meeting rooms.
