Adam Milstein Takes His Philanthropy to Another Level

Posted in Philantropist on Apr 01, 2017

Adam Milstein is the co-founder of the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation. Born in Israel, Adam witnessed firsthand the effects of hatred and war. Growing up in the Middle East and having to serve a mandatory service in the Israel Defense Forces only bestowed the desire to help his people in a more peaceful way.

After moving to the United States and becoming a successful commercial real estate entrepreneur, Adam set his sights on a more philanthropic endeavor. Along with his wife, Gila, he founded several Jewish-American organizations. His main organization, the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation, aids other organizations with the shared goal of Pro-Israel advocacy.

In a recent event, thousands of people around the world were given the chance to determine which of the 10 video entries in the “Inspired by Israel” contest. The contest was designed to encourage people, Jewish or not, to create entertaining, educational, and inspiring videos about Israel. The winner of the people’s vote will be shown to a panel of elite judges.

All in all, over 80 individuals and groups entered the contest. The winners of the contest will receive $20,000 in cash prizes. The Grand Prize, for best video, will receive $8,000. The Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation and the 12Tribe Films Foundation have partnered to sponsor the contest.

The voting period will only last ten days and will end on March 29. The top ten prize winners will be hand selected by a panel consisting of several independent experts. Gila Milstein and David Suissa, Jewish Journal/Tribe Media President, will be two of the judges. The winners are scheduled to be announced at the end of April.

Amazingly, the contest has sparked some vivid and dynamic expressions of Israeli inspiration. Adam is amazed at how well people are embracing the concept beyond the contest. He’s especially excited about letting the public participate. It only further proves and advocates what the Adam Milstein Family Foundation is all about. He hopes that this will become an annual event.
